About the Author

Rita M. Reali has been a weaver of stories for as long as she can remember. During her tenure as news editor of The Catholic Transcript, she comprised half of the national award-winning team covering the 1999 murder of a parish priest in his Forestville church.

Her writing has been featured in The Hartford Courant, as well as the S.H.A.R.E. National Pregnancy Loss Newsletter and Reminisce magazine.

As a former disc jockey in Southington, Connecticut, Rita says she used to spend her days “talking to people who weren’t there” – a skill which transferred perfectly to her being an author.

A longtime member of the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association, Rita served ten years as its board secretary. She belongs to the Association of Publishers for Special Sales and the Tennessee Mountain Writers. She’s spoken extensively at writers’ conferences in both Connecticut and Tennessee, as well as the global Women in Publishing Summit 2021.

Rita and her husband relocated to Tennessee in late 2013. Since then, she’s published Glimpse of Emerald, Diagnosis: Love, The Unintended Hero, Second Chances and Tender Mercies – the first five novels in the seven-volume Sheldon Family Saga. The sixth book in the series, Brothers by Betrayal, is due out in early 2024.

Rita’s first foray into children’s picture books, The Purringest Kitty Finds His Home, is expected to be released at Christmastime.
